Did you know FGIA offers a live-tweet feed of updates from several of the Association’s events on our Twitter account? It started with live-tweeting highlights from our conferences, but it has since expanded into coverage of our regular webinar series as well as our regional meetings and events. While attending yourself is always the best way to get firsthand information, these Twitter updates are a great way to stay updated if you can’t make it. Your next opportunity to follow along with FGIA on Twitter is during the FGIA FENBC Region Industry Summit on April 12. Here is where you can find our posts and why you should check them out.

Regional Events

FGIA now has three regions under our umbrella: the Southeast Region, the Western Region and the new FENBC Region. All three are hosting virtual events this spring! To see live-tweet threads from speakers at the April 12 FENBC Region Industry Summit, search the event hashtag #FGIAFENBC. For live-tweets from the April 25 Southeast Region Meeting, use the hashtag #FGIASER. And finally, to read live updates from the May 9 Western Region Summit, search for #FGIAWR. You can find all updates after the fact – you don’t have to catch them “live” to read them.

Webinars

FGIA hosts webinars during non-conference months as part of our “Teaching Tuesdays” Education program. Past topics have included BC building and energy codes, ENERGY STAR and how to report unit shipment data and how energy advisors are an important partner. Members can view past webinars on the FGIA website (member login required). I live-tweet these webinars using the hashtag #FGIAwebinar, offering highlights and photos from each presentation.

Conferences

We encourage conference participants to get in on the fun by using the FGIA conference hashtag #FGIAconf in their online updates, whether it’s tweeting from Opening General Session or posting reception pictures on Instagram. See FGIA’s updates as well as posts from participants at that hashtag on those platforms as well as Facebook and LinkedIn. Throughout conferences, I live-tweet speakers in across-the-board sessions just like I do with regional event sessions. Watch for updates this June during the FGIA Summer Conference in Vancouver, BC!

In addition to event coverage, we love sharing good news from our members. Tag FGIA in your company’s updates so we can share them across our own platforms.
