Complaints Against a Product or Manufacturer
FGIA imposes no warranty requirements on its licensees, nor does FGIA have authority to enforce manufacturer warranties. FGIA does, however, require its licensees to respond to customer complaints. Manufacturer contact information is available through the Certified Products Directory elsewhere on the FGIA website.
If you do not know the manufacturer of your window or glass door and it is AAMA-certified, we can help. Find the AAMA Gold Label (usually visible when the door or window is in an open position), which is identified by the square AAMA logo at the left end. At the bottom center of the label, find the manufacturer code (Mfr Code); it consists of two or three letters, followed by a dash, followed by a number. Call FGIA at (847) 303-5664, and we’ll provide the name and contact information for the manufacturer.
Complaints of Fraudulent Claims of Certification
If a manufacturer claims AAMA certification of their products but this claim cannot be substantiated, contact FGIA Customer Service via the form below.
Complaints against the AAMA Gold Label Certification Program
Complaints against the AAMA Gold Label Certification Program itself should also be brought to the attention of the Certification Services Manager, Fenestration.
If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved at this point, it can be appealed in writing to the AAMA Certification Policy Committee by writing to:
Chairman, AAMA Certification Policy Committee
1900 E Golf Road, Suite 1250
Schaumburg, IL 60173
If still not satisfactorily resolved, complaints may then be appealed to the FGIA Board of Directors, at the address given above. The Board’s decision is final.
