The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has adopted the 2018 IRC and the 2018 IBC. As a result of the adoption of the new codes, changes have occurred in the TDI windstorm program. This presentation will cover those changes and how they affect fenestration products that are used on structures within the TDI windstorm program area. Topics of interest include the designated catastrophe area, wind speed and design pressure requirements, windborne debris requirements, the process for getting a product listed with the TDI, and conducting business during a pandemic.
