Enjoy Online Access to AAMA, IGMA Documents via FGIA Virtual Library

I usually know that I have a specific document somewhere, but exactly where it is might be a problem. If you have ever had a similar issue in finding FGIA documents, the Fenestration and Glazing Virtual Library (FGVL) is here to help. This resource has existed for several years and provides access to most of the documents in the combined AAMA and IGMA document libraries. With the FGVL, you have 185 documents at your fingertips. AAMA, IGMA Members Enjoy Combined Summer Event in Canada

The 2019 Joint AAMA and IGMA Summer Conferences went off without a hitch earlier this month, with members from both associations coming together to network and hear from industry leaders and speakers. The unique combined event in Victoria, BC was memorable for many reasons, but the scavenger hunt around the city especially brought out everyone’s fun, albeit competitive, sides. Be sure to read news coverage of the event in the AAMA News section of the AAMA website, but for now, look below for photos from...

AAMA Webinar Program Prioritizes Topics Most Important to Members

Some may not realize that AAMA’s commitment to continuing education doesn’t start and end with its online certification and education programs. In addition to these crucial training options, the AAMA webinar program has been delivering near-monthly presentations since its inception in 2014. In 2019 alone, four webinars have been offered and more are planned for the rest of the year. Future topics will range from labor shortage and retention to field testing. Webinars take place during non-conference months in the AAMA events schedule.AAMA members can...

Joint AAMA, IGMA Summer Conferences Bring Added Value to Industry

This June, two industry associations and their memberships will meet for one combined event in Victoria, British Columbia for the Joint AAMA and IGMA Summer Conferences. Last year, the leaders of AAMA and IGMA announced the possibility of unifying the two associations, and a vote among both organizations’ members will take place in July. Leading up to that vote, this joint event will give members of each association a chance to experience each other’s conference and have questions about unification addressed. Plus, as an added...

IGMA Winter Conference, AAMA Annual Conference Host Unification Discussions

February has proven to be a particularly busy month for the industry, thanks to two major conferences taking place in locations (thankfully) warmer than Chicago. During the first week of the month, I attended the IGMA Winter Conference in Austin, TX and now, AAMA staff is wrapping up details for next week’s AAMA 82nd Annual Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Together, the two events provide an excellent backdrop for the ongoing discussions underway, of unifying IGMA and AAMA into one organization. Here are some takeaways...

Flashback Friday | Benefits Series | AAMA Keeps Close Tabs on the Industry

Being an AAMA member has many benefits, but one I’d like to highlight this month is the association’s working relationships with other industry organizations. AAMA currently represents our members in interactions with four organizations: IGMA, ASHRAE, ASTM and NFRC. Members of AAMA staff regularly attend these meetings and representatives from these organizations are welcome to attend AAMA Conferences. This level of industry representation is crucial.IGMAThe Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) is the first group that AAMA monitors, in addition to attending their meetings. IGMA’s industry...

AAMA Members Show Off Their Best at GlassBuild

GlassBuild is a force to be reckoned with no matter how long you’ve been in the industry, and AAMA staff and members lived to fight another year. Attendance at the 2018 show in Las Vegas was good and traffic at AAMA’s booth was up compared to the 2016 show in the same venue. We were able to visit with many different AAMA members and connect with several potential members and certification program licensees. The big topic of conversation at the AAMA/IGMA booth was the potential unification...
