Registration is now open for the 2024 FGIA Annual Conference, to be held February 19-22 in Amelia Island, FL! This event will feature a very special theme: a tribute to Rich Walker, the former President and CEO of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and an industry figure of momentous proportions. The preliminary schedule is now available and is packed with a variety of presentations, panel discussions and hands-on workshops. Numerous committees, councils and task groups will also have an opportunity to meet.

After hosting several hybrid events, FGIA is evolving its event strategy as part of a path back to in-person conferences. At this conference, a greater number of sessions are featured on the schedule, targeting three to five concurrent meetings, with content for each being specifically strategized to initiate discussion and facilitate decision-making. The Thursday schedule will conclude by noon local time to allow conference participants to attend all sessions and still depart the conference on the last day of activities.

Also, returning to FGIA is previous keynote speaker Kenneth W. Gronbach, who will bring participants into the world of counting people with his keynote address, “Demography is Destiny.” Demography is the science of simplicity of birth, death and migration of populations. The demographic perspective on generational dynamics is macro, big-picture and long term and Gronbach’s strategies can be integrated into strategic plans in diverse sectors. Join him for this entertaining and memorable presentation.

My favorite part of the Annual Conference is always the annual awards presentation, during which several FGIA members will be recognized for their hard work and contributions during the previous year. Awards include distinguished service within various FGIA segments, Outstanding Member and the Chairman’s Award. The passing of the gavel will also take place as we welcome a new Board Chairman for 2024 and 2025. Join us at the reception to thank our members who went the extra mile in 2023.

Not only will FGIA host the annual FGIA Rich and Diane Walker Cup golf tournament, there will be a first-ever pickleball tournament at the resort. Register now for “It’s Kind of a Big Dill” to reserve a spot on the court the morning of Monday, February 19. Prizes will be available for categories including “best dressed,” “best serve” and “most improved.” This sport is all the rage these days, so don’t miss your chance to give it a try or show off your skills. A special additional optional event on Monday afternoon will be an educational workshop called “Discovering Issues Before They Become Problems | Hands-on Workshop for Insulating Glass Forensic Analysis.”

Register now for the in-person experience or for virtual access to the 2024 FGIA Annual Conference. Early bird registration rates are available through January 9.
