I’m so excited for GlassBuild America, the largest annual gathering place for the entire glass, window and door industries in North America. AAMA is proud to again be an association partner, working in collaboration with other trade organizations to make this year even more successful than the last. But, AAMA members are also bringing their “A” game, showcasing their expertise via Express Learning and Action Demos. If you’ll be in Atlanta for GlassBuild, I encourage you to take advantage of the expertise these members offer. And, come visit AAMA in the Industry Association Pavilion, booth 4041, to learn about all the benefits of membership.

Express Learning

Two members will be sharing their knowledge during Express Learning sessions taking place on the show floor. For the last several years these 20-minute educational sessions drew standing-room-only crowds. This year, the Express Learning sessions (which are free, by the way) are aimed at providing attendees with specific product- and business-related information to build their businesses.

The Importance of Glass in Biophilia Design
Tuesday, September 17 | 12:00 p.m.

Elizabeth Cotton with AGC Glass North America will discuss research revealing how people want building structures that provide psychological restoration, reducing fatigue and stress levels. I can certainly get behind that! She’ll educate attendees on how glass in its current and future development will play a major role in satisfying needs to be more aligned with our environment and nature.

After Automation: Next Steps for Fabricators
Tuesday, September 17 | 2:00 p.m.

Joe Erb with Quanex Building Products plans to cover how automated production lines can help fabricators generate more units than ever before. His session will help companies address the production challenges that come with automated machinery, from logistics to communication, including how to strategically manage orders, outputs and jobsite requirements. His tips could definitely make the difference between total efficiency and a production log jam.

Action Demos

AAMA members will also be hosting live demonstrations on the main exhibit floor, giving attendees a close-up view of the latest processes and industry innovations. These Action Demos are also free to all registered attendees. Another great benefit of the show!

Hurricane Impact Demonstration
Tuesday, September 17 | 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 18 | 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 19 | 12:30 p.m.

This popular and must-see demonstration, which will happen each day on the show floor, simulates how fenestration products react to the effects of debris in hurricane and tornado force winds. Intertek will be showcasing testing equipment that is impressive, to say the least. If you haven’t seen this before, be sure to add it to your list. I’ve seen it every year, and I still stand in awe each time. Come grab me at the AAMA booth if you’d like to ogle at this demo together!

Panic Device Installation on Glass Doors
Wednesday, September 18 | 2:00 p.m.

C.R. Laurence will cover best practices when installing panic devices on glass doors. Attendees will learn how to select the right panic system for the application to maximize safety and performance. Increased safety is certainly a topic of great importance to our industry. I’m looking forward to seeing this product in action!

Whether you’ll be at the show or your desk, follow the #GlassBuild hashtag on Twitter for live updates. AAMA will be posting from the tradeshow floor all week, tweeting from our account, @AAMAinfo. Follow along for the latest and greatest our industry has to offer!
