This webinar will provide an overview of the changes made to the newest edition of ICC 500 storm shelter requirements. The ICC 500 committee has been working over the last 2-1/2 years to complete the 2020 edition, as well as updates to the standard commentary. This webinar will also used to provide an update for the FGIA - ICC 500 Monitoring TG which was formed to keep up to date on the progression and changes to this standard that could affect FGIA member companies
Presenter: Dave Stammen, Principal Engineer - Building Envelope, UL LLC
Dave Stammen is the Principal Engineer for the Building Science Group at UL LLC. He is a graduate of Wright State University, with a Mechanical Engineering and MBA degree, and has over 25 years of experience designing, testing, and researching exterior Building Envelope products. Dave is active within the Building Envelope Industry, specifically around product performance and code development. Dave's primary focus for UL covers the technical matters for building envelope performance testing and certification for building envelope products, tornado and hurricane shelters and components, as well as fire and smoke damper performance.
