Happy Valentine’s Day! Every day of the year is a great one to share with people what they mean to you, but we wanted to take some time now to reach out. We already know our association’s members are the best, but we want to make sure they know it, too. Here are some nice things AAMA staff had to say about AAMA’s members.

“I love AAMA members because they have told me more around a dinner table about the window industry and those who built it than I could ever learn in a text book.”

Rich Walker, AAMA President and CEO

“I love working with our members because they are always willing to help me understand technical matters for the purposes of communicating them. I don’t have an engineering background, and they take the time to put important info into layman’s terms for me. Plus, they’re genuinely interesting people and I always look forward to catching up with them at conferences.”

Meryl Williams, AAMA Communications Coordinator

“Our members have been so encouraging at every turn. Quick to offer advice and information. My time at AAMA would have been quite difficult without the continued support and caring of our members.”

Diana Hanson, Regulatory Affairs Manager

“The collaboration and friendship between potential competitors is why I love AAMA members! Their end goal is the greater good of the industry, ensuring that technical documents, educational programs and promotional resources are accurate and valuable. And, members have a whole lot of fun away from the conference room as well, bonding over shared experiences at AAMA events and industry trade shows.”

Angela Dickson, AAMA Marketing and Communications Director

“As a member of the education department, I get to work with our members who are either pursuing a FenestrationMasters credential, engaging in other AAMA educational offerings, or coordinating group orders of AAMA educational offerings for their team. It’s inspiring to see these members so motivated to keep learning about their industry, and especially when they are helping their team to become more educated as well. It’s truly rewarding to be a part of!”

Michelle Gaynes, Education Coordinator

“I can’t imagine working with another group of people. It’s a pleasure to work with our members because they are very professional, respectful, understanding and fun!”

Florence Nicolici, AAMA’s Meetings Manager

“I love working with our members because it’s captivating to see the effort they put into developing documents. Some documents have a smooth ride and others have a much rougher journey, but members endure it all to help make better documents for the industry. They don’t get enough credit for the changes they’ve inspired.”

Julia Carlucci, Technical Standards Coordinator

“I love the variety. Every day is different, and I get to interact with such a skilled group of people. It means I am always learning. Everyone works hard and is recognized for doing so.”

 Stephanie Severson, Executive Assistant

As for me, I have to say AAMA members are tireless in their efforts and dedication to the work of the association. They volunteer their time to establish solid performance standards for fenestration products and to develop communications so industry professionals know about them. With leaner teams and an ever-expanding list of priorities requiring attention, our members’ ability to invest time in contributing to AAMA’s objectives never ceases to amaze me and is certainly an inspiration to work harder and strive for more. And, their great comradery makes it clear that they manage to have some fun along the way, too.
